In this new album, he leaves no stone unturned with his words of wisdom. Like I said, he is a wordsmith in the truest sense of the word. Lamar's style is less of an in-your-face shade toss, then it is a genius remark or poignant reference to something or someone else without directly saying it. He didn't go Kanye West level diss-mode, but, the disses are still very much a part of Lamar's new songs.īut before I get ahead of myself, I should clarify what I mean by "disses," because in Lamar's music, they are a lot more clever and nuanced than the average diss. Lamar's lyrics are the epitome of wordsmithing at it's finest, and that means more than a few sly slights. it wouldn't be a Kendrick Lamar release without some cleverly placed disses at other stars, cultural phenomenons, and, well, the world. But before that happens, I must address some of the shade he threw on this album. and are ready to have a rational discussion about how awesome it was. Hopefully you are done freaking out over the new Kendrick Lamar album untitled unmastered.
